Step 1: Identify Your Fender Brand and Model
Most marine fenders have their model number molded directly into the body or printed on a hang tag attached at the time of purchase. Look for:
- →Molded text on the fender end cap — Polyform fenders typically have model and size information molded into the plastic at one or both ends.
- →Hang tag or label — newer fenders often have a durable plastic or foil tag with the full model number.
- →Purchase receipt or manual — if the fender is new, the receipt will list the SKU, which includes the model number.
If none of those are available, you can measure the uninflated fender's body diameter and overall length, then cross-reference against the manufacturer's published size charts.
Step 2: Match Your Fender to the Right Series
Most marine fenders follow a series-and-model naming convention. The series tells you the shape and manufacturer; the model number tells you the size. Here's a quick-reference guide to the most common series:
| Series | Models | Size Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polyform F-Series | F-1 through F-10 | 5" – 18" dia | Most common cylindrical fender. Model number printed on fender body. |
| Polyform G-Series | G-4 through G-9 | 9" – 19" dia | Round/ball style. Often used on larger vessels and trawlers. |
| Polyform A-Series | A-1 through A-5 | 8" – 16" dia | Compact round fenders for sailboats and narrow beam vessels. |
| Polyform HTM Series | HTM-1 through HTM-5 | Various | Polyform hole-through-middle cylindrical fenders with reinforced tube ends. |
| Polyform NF-Series | NF-3 through NF-5 (US catalog) | Various | Polyform twin-eye heavy-duty recreational cylindrical fenders. |
| Taylor Made Super Gard | 5½×20, 6½×22, 8½×26, 10½×30 | 15–50 ft boats | Twin-eye ribbed cylindrical, high-gloss marine vinyl. |
| Taylor Made Hull Gard | 4½×16 through 10½×30 (5 sizes) | 10–50 ft boats | Oval/teardrop shape prevents rolling on the hull. |
| Taylor Made Storm Gard | 5½×20, 6½×22, 8½×27 | 15–35 ft boats | Metallic-finish ribbed cylindrical with reinforced eyelets. |
| Taylor Made Tuff End | 6×25 through 32×77 (8 sizes) | Up to 100+ ft | Injection-molded ends, heavy-duty for large yachts and commercial. |
| Taylor Made Big B | 6×15, 8×20, 10×26, 12×34 | 20–60 ft boats | Center rope tube — end-to-end line passage for horizontal hanging. |
| Inflatable Yacht Fenders | Various | Custom measured | Submit diameter × length — we cut to exact dimensions. |
Step 3: Why Model Number Matters More than Measured Size
You might wonder: if I know the diameter and length of my fender, why can't I just order by those measurements?
Because fender covers aren't simple cylinders. A Polyform F-5, for example, has a tapered body — wider at the center than at the ends. The end caps have a specific curvature that varies between models and manufacturers.
Our proprietary dielines account for all of this — body taper, end cap curvature, seam placement, and the amount of neoprene stretch that occurs during inflation. Ordering by model number ensures your cover uses the correct dieline. Ordering by measurement alone doesn't capture enough information for a precision fit.
Step 4: Submit Your Order with Confidence
Once you have your fender brand and model number, the process is straightforward:
- 1.Fill out the custom request form or the standard order form, including your fender brand and model number.
- 2.If ordering a custom-printed cover, describe your design or upload your artwork and logos.
- 3.We confirm the fit against our dieline library and begin the design process.
- 4.Approve your digital mockup. Pay only when satisfied. Your covers ship within 3 weeks.
Model not listed?
If your fender model isn't in our standard library, we can create a new dieline. Submit your request with the fender brand, model, and if possible, inflated dimensions. We'll confirm whether we can accommodate your model before any payment is required.
